You're bleeding alpha in your infrastructure, not your math.
Before your strategy ever runs, your researchers have spent weeks cleaning data and patching lookahead bias while the big desks tested the same idea in hours and crowded the alpha to zero. The bottleneck was never your math. It was your data pipeline. Kopie Quant gives a ten-person shop institutional data-engineering velocity: point-in-time-correct, any market, in your bucket in under 4 minutes.
Kopie Quant exists to close the gap between the giants of finance and everyone who has to compete against them without the same resources.
The mega-funds don't win because of better math. A moving average is a moving average whether it runs inside a five-hundred-person fund or a ten-person shop. They win because they move faster. Over the past decade they've spent hundreds of millions of dollars building the infrastructure that lets a researcher test an idea before lunch instead of before the end of the quarter. That kind of speed was never something you could buy. You could only get there by hiring your way in.
We're here to put it up for sale.
We think the sharpest minds should win, not just the firms with the deepest infrastructure budgets. So we build that infrastructure ourselves and hand it to firms who were never supposed to have access to it. The pipeline the giants spent a decade protecting as their edge becomes a product any firm can turn on for less than the cost of a single engineer.
Our first product is Vulcan. It takes point-in-time-correct historical data and gets it to you in 2 to 4 minutes instead of weeks, so your researchers stop maintaining pipelines or waiting on data engineers and start looking for alpha. Vulcan is the foundation, and it's only the start. We want to become your engineer's engineer, building every layer of infrastructure underneath you until scale stops being something you have to buy. Finance is shifting away from gut calls and theory toward strategies that can be tested and proven, and that shift is moving fast. We intend to move with it and keep the firms we work with a step ahead.
You were never outmatched, just under-equipped, and that's the part we're built to fix.
Your researchers aren't losing to better math. They're losing to a slower pipeline.
Your quants spend most of the day cleaning data, wrestling corporate actions, and patching lookahead bias instead of researching alpha. That work produces no edge. It just has to happen before the real work can start.
Same idea, same math, different pipeline. Signal research is a search problem, and search is bounded by how fast you can re-cut the data. When each variant takes hours, you test a handful of ideas a day. The giants test hundreds.
Alpha decays. The fast funds find it, trade it, crowd it, and kill it while your version is still in the pipeline. You're being out-iterated, not out-thought, and it happens before your strategy ever runs.
We are an engine, not a venue.
We do not sell a fixed catalogue. We sell the pipeline that computes it. Six classes arrive already declared, and those declarations are ours, written for the feed we carry. Bring a class we do not carry and it fills the same template, passes the same checks, and runs on the same rails.
Point us at a data vendor we do not list, or at your own S3 bucket. You grant read access and keep the keys, so you can revoke it without asking us first.
We open your real files and propose what each column is, with the sample values we read. You confirm or correct a proposal. Your columns keep the names your own files use.
Every confirmed field becomes a named argument. You declare what each adjustment reads and writes, and the run order derives from those declarations. A real tie is refused by name rather than guessed.
A venue calendar, a print exclusion, a delist date. Each one points at a column rather than at a list of instruments. One rule covers the whole class, and an instrument added next year is covered the day its row appears.
Four machine checks run over every mapped field on real values. One person confirms the preview, and that confirmation is on the record. Every later edit certifies again.
After that, your asset class is not a special case. It runs the same computation trail as everything else we compute, and nobody writes code on our side to make that true.
History, exactly as it was known.
Point-in-time and rolling-PIT reconstruction is the core of everything we build. Every price and every adjustment is stamped to the moment it was actually known, so your backtests never see the future. The rest of the platform below adjusts it, extends it, and lands it in your bucket.
From a Vendor Feed to a Backtest-Ready Dataset, in Four Steps.
Import your vendor, or use ours.
Point us at the bucket your vendor already writes to. Or take our feed and skip the contract. Either way the data stays under your control.
Run the data engineering.
We measure the job, buy the machine it earns, and run the whole pipeline. Corporate actions, adjustments and edge cases are resolved here, not left to your researchers.
Reconstruct the history.
Every price and every adjustment is stamped with the moment it was known. Ask for one cutoff, or for every vantage along the way. Your backtest never sees the future.
Take the analysis-ready data.
The finished dataset lands in a bucket your firm owns, ready to model. Your researchers ask for a dataset and get one, instead of filing a four-week ticket.
The pipeline the giants spent a decade building. Available the moment you turn it on.
Before you build it, run the numbers.
- 5-10data engineers to hire and keep
- $2M+per year in vendor licensing
- 12-18months to the first clean dataset
- $20Kper month, all-in
- Hoursto install, then seconds to minutes per dataset you request
- Zerodata engineers to staff
No vendor to import? We have you covered.
Every firm on a plan gets our full asset coverage, engineered and delivered to your bucket. We hold the licences and run the pipelines, so you never stand up a vendor relationship just to start. If you already hold an LSEG licence, bring it and your price drops. Either way the data lands point-in-time-correct and model-ready.
The raw feed is the easy part. Point-in-time correctness is the product.
Why You Can Trust Kopie Quant
We built Kopie Quant to serve firms who cannot afford to be careless with their data. That means the burden is on us to prove, structurally, that working with us is safe. We do not ask for your trust. We make it unnecessary.
Your data never leaves your control.
Your data lives in your own storage, under your own license, on infrastructure isolated to you alone. We do not copy it, move it, warehouse it, or let it share a system with another client's data. At signing, we execute a binding agreement that Kopie Quant will never sell, share, distribute, or otherwise disclose it to any party, for any reason.
We cannot, and will not, compete with you.
Kopie Quant does not trade. We are a software company, and our returns come from building software, not from the markets our clients operate in. By binding policy the firm deploys no capital into any market, so we are structurally incapable of using your data, access, or workflows to gain an edge. Every client agreement backs this with an explicit covenant: we will not use your data, or anything derived from it, to create or inform a market advantage for ourselves or anyone else. It is used for one purpose, which is delivering the service you engaged us for.
Everything is logged, including our own access.
The same deterministic logs that run our operations give you a complete, inspectable record of what happened, when, and how, including every time we touch your systems. We manage your infrastructure so you do not have to, but it remains your system, and every touch is checked against an audit trail you can inspect at any time. Our outputs are deterministic and reproducible against your own known-good data, so correctness is something you check, not something we assert.
Our people are walled off too.
Founders and employees may invest their personal capital, but they do so under a compliance policy designed to guarantee there is no conflict with our clients. Personal accounts are subject to reporting and disclosure, and no one who manages our personal capital is ever given any information about our clients, their data, or their activity. The wall between our personal investing and our client relationships is absolute and documented.
We designed our company so that betraying a client would require breaking a contract we voluntarily bound ourselves to, and so the incentive to do it never exists in the first place.
